The Story Behind Lingolenco.com
From Learner to Founder

As a founder—and as a Spanish learner myself—I created Lingolenco.com out of a very personal need. When I first moved to Marbella, I visited the local Language Center every day for four hours, and my Spanish notes began piling up endlessly. At the same time, the world was witnessing the dawn of generative AI, especially OpenAI and ChatGPT. I started rewriting my notes using ChatGPT and uploaded them into lingolenco.com so I could access them from anywhere. Then, to spice things up a bit, I added quizzes, exercises, and small AI tools to the website that helped me learn Spanish with AI in an organised way. So, what began as a simple personal notebook turned into Lingolenco.com, a small website for beginners—and slowly, it became a place where others could also find AI Spanish conversations for free, plus structured lessons, and guided practice. That was the beginning.
Living in Andalucía, I quickly fell in love with its culture. Inspired by this, I added a cultural dimension to the website and built all example sentences around an imaginary Spanish family—the Garcías, who lived in Marbella. With Midjourney, another emerging AI tool, I brought this Andalusian world to life visually. Over time, I created more than 600 images portraying these characters. They became so vivid that I saw them even in my dreams. In a beautiful way, they became part of my new community in Marbella—and part of the soul of the platform.
After six months of continuous work, Lingolenco had evolved into more than 250 A1–A2 lessons: AI-generated dialogues, cultural notes, thousands of quizzes, and two AI chatbots—AmigoGPT and AmigaGPT—that allowed learners to speak Spanish with AI and receive instant corrections.
